There was a sign nearby indicating the seal’s endangered status and when Alaina read the sign, I heard “dangerous” instead of “endangered” so I ran away, but I didn’t make it very far because the sand was so deep.
But not really.
Anyway, I like this guy’s style. We have similar vacation mannerisms. Lay there. Flip over. Raise your flipper. Lay there. Repeat.
Happy New Year everyone!

I’ve got a nice start on my tan and I’m looking forward to several more warm sunny days to finish it off. I’m hoping to get a good picture of one of the thousands of roosters or geckos crawling around here. Wish me luck.

Something on our plane is broken and I’m really hoping it’s a windshield wiper. I hate flying. Also, we’ve got the medics tending to us now. I have learned that first degree burns without blisters require cold water and/or ice packs (coolness helps heal, ice helps numb the pain). Burns with blisters, however, should be covered with a dry pad and you should allow it to heal itself. Liquid antibiotics don’t do anything to heal burns. Thanks medics!
Don’t ask. Alaina and I are fine.
Anyway.
Not quite sure when we’ll get to board the plane, but we were anticipating a two hour layover in Honolulu anyway, so we’re just waiting in a different airport. By the way, I had no idea that an “S Gate” existed at Seatac, but you have to take one of those trains to get here. I feel like I’ve just discovered a secret club.
The good news is we’ve been treated to first class (woo!) which meant a super speedy check in and no security line.
